May 08, 2016 "Mother's Day 2016" - It was a good sunday morning when we decided to celebrate mother's day in a peculiar way. My dad wanted it to be special for my mom so we decided to go hiking in this year's "Mother's Day". We went to Mt. Pico De Loro which is located at Nasugbu, 4231 Batangas, Philippines DENR Station - I must say it is another experience for the family so, it's very exciting! The most exciting part of this adventure was we get to bond again like 100% family time only. We could no longer wait before then because it has been years since our last hiking trip in Sagada.

We woke up at 3:00 am to get ready and left the house at exactly 4:30 am. By this time, You must wondering why we leave so early? It's because we wanted our hike to be more healthy. I meant the benefits of the sun in the morning that has vitamins compared to the afternoon that is very harsh for our skin. So yeah, It's really advisable to hike in the morning compare to the afternoon time because you'll not be able to enjoy your hiking trip when there's a sun that is burning you up.

On our way, we opened the windows of our car as we feel the fresh breezy air. (We're already driving at a high point that time) so the air was indeed so fresh and relaxing. But unfortunately, as we approached closer our phones slowly loses its signal. But it's ok, it was the right time to leave the internet and say hello to mother nature.

Honestly, I was still sleepy because of yesterday's swimming party with my high school friends. The party lasted until 5 am but I went home as early as 11 pm because I need to get some rest before our hike trip.

"Welcome to Pico De Loro"

Mt. Pico de Loro is part of a protected Forest in Ternate cavite called Mt. Palay-Palay. At 664 meters above sea level, it is the highest peak in Cavite. North of it is the island of Corregidor, Nasugbu Batangas in the south, Maragondon Cavite on the east and the South China Sea on the west. It is a popular hiking site both for amateur and newbie mountaineers alike. One, at 2 ½ hour travel time, it’s very accessible from Manila. Two, because it is a minor climb, it appeals to people who are not necessarily professional climbers. In short, it is one of the easiest mountains to climb. - KZISM

Mount Pico De Loro, also known as Mount Palay - Palay, is a dormant volcano in Cavite province on the island of Luzon, Philippines. The mountain is one of the ancient volcanic features of Bataan Arc. Pico De Loro was first named by Spanish sea-farers which means "Parrot's Beak" as its pointed summit resembles the shape of a parrot's beak from afar and it is commonly used as a signal by sea-farers to turn east to get to Manila Bay.

We're finally here! - We arrived the place at exactly 6 am. And right there you'll see this group of tour guides.

We finally reached the Camp site - Guys, just a friendly reminder. For you to be able to enjoy your hike. You must follow these tips: Travel light, Bring light snacks like biscuits and water, Kits that will hold your important stuffs, Extra clothes and face towels, Good pair of hiking shoes/sandals and lastly a first aid kit.
